This week we challenge you to detox your home in 24 hours to help you have a positive and fresh start to spring 2017.

  1. EARLY MORN: Clean Out That Cupboard Or Drawer

Lets face it, we all have that cupboard or drawer that we just stuff full of crap – out of sight out of mind right? No! Why not try clearing out these closet / drawer /cupboard’s whatever – wouldn’t it be nice to get dressed in the morning and see folded and hung up clothes instead of piles of material chucked in?

  1. LATE MORN: Fix That Thing You’ve Been Meaning To Fix

Maybe it’s a squeaky door hinge, or a broken blind? Whatever it is, be it large or small, make it your mission to get it fixed, it will feel like a relief once it’s done. I recently put up a shelf which had been sitting in a cupboard for 6 months and I’m so pleased with it!

  1. MIDDAY: Bring In Fresh Plants
Flowers can be expensive and need to be changed regularly, so we are much more fond of getting some plants in that don’t require much attention but that will bring a fresh lease of life into your space. Aloe vera plants are great for bathrooms as they survive well in moist, dark environments. Alternatively, Try succulents, palms, cabbage flowers, banana leaf plants and fig leaves for a cleansing and uplifting look. If however flowers are more your thing, try artificial ones to prevent regular purchasing.
  1. EARLY AFTERNOON: Plump Your Sofa – Vigorously
We aren’t talking about a light plump here of there – take the foam and feather inners out of your sofa and cushions and bring them back to life with a big plump. This not only will re-shape you sofa back to showroom quality, but is also really essential for the foam insides if you want your sofa to last a long time and not look worn in.
  1. LATE AFTERNOON: Paint A Door & Frame

This is like a cheats way to add a bit of fun to your home without having to buy lots of paint and spend hours doing it. It’s very on trend to paint a door, and their frame, colours at the moment as it adds some vibrancy and interest to your home. It also means you won’t have to change your room scheme. I guarantee every time you walk through it, it will give you a little buzz. Try teal, mustard or black.

  1. IN TO THE NIGHT: Grout Pen

If you’ve got white grouting in your bathroom or kitchen and it’s starting to look a bit tired, we cannot recommend enough the amazingness of a grout pen. Black ones cost less an fiver and drastically change the look of a space. All you do is literally colour over the white grimy grouting and it completely refreshes the look. I recently did my bathroom floors and it was an amazing transformation – I would recommend buying 2 pens though. I learnt this the hard way and ran out half way through doing the floor!
